Offering solutions for persons with challenges or disabilities that may affect his or her freedom to travel independently.

The goal you set must be challenging. At the same time, it should be realistic and attainable, not impossible to reach. It should be challenging enough to make you stretch, but not so far that you break.

Travel Tips

If you are flying, please ensure you have adequate identification (all carriers require a minimum of one piece of photo ID; however, we recommend a passport or photo health card along with an original birth certificate).WE CAN NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE DENIED BOARDING DUE TO INADEQUATE DOCUMENTATION.

Persons that have difficulty communicating should carry an identification card with any medication requirements and a list of contact numbers (TravelpoweR will supply this if requested).
All baggage must be clearly labelled, with name, home address, and phone number.
If motion sickness is a problem please give us prior notice and be sure to bring your own motion sickness medications.

Please do not carry sharp objects, liquids or gels in your carry-on baggage!

Please pack lightly. Most air carriers today charge large amounts of money for overweight checked luggage (TravelpoweR cannot be held responsible for overweight charges).

Please check your luggage before you leave to ensure you have everything you need. Some things you may want to remember are: pants, dress/skirt, underwear, extra shoes or sandals, a spring jacket, a bathing suit, a beach towel, bathroom supplies, sun hats, warm weather clothing, sunglasses/sunscreen etc.

For those who do not recognize their own clothing, it is recommended that the clothing be marked with an identifier (a small marker dot is sufficient).

If you intend on bringing your own camera, and would like TravelpoweR to assist you in taking pictures, please label the camera so it does not get mixed up with one belonging to another traveler.

If you suspect that you will be arriving late at the meeting location please call the companion contact number provided so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Trip cancellation insurance will cover you only if you have a legitimate reason for cancelling. Please note that arriving late for your flight is not considered a legitimate excuse (unless you can provide proof of an accident occurring en route to the airport)

Please double check medications, and ensure you bring at least one extra day of medication. Please do not pack medication in suitcase, put it in your carry-on luggage.

Please do not wear a lot of jewelry while traveling, as it may get lost. It must be removed when going through airport security so it is best to pack it in your carry-on luggage.

If you cannot swim but intend to use the pool anyway, bring your own life jacket (TravelpoweR staff will always be present when people are in the pool).
